Father of Johnny Appleseed?

I am very interested in Nathaniel and his son John. As I can see, his son is the legendary Johnny Appleseed. My name is Jonathan Chapman, and I have believed for a long time that I am related somehow to John Chapman, aka Johnny Appleseed. I hope to find out how I am connected, but for now It is hard to find the right path to him.
