Much has been written about this famous family, especially the most famous member, Daniel Boone. Daniel is my first cousin, six generations removed. Our common ancestor is George Boone III.

First Generation:
George Boone lived near Exeter, England.
Second Generation:
George Boone II, son of George, born ca 1636, lived in Stoke Canon, England. He died in 1696 and was buried in Stoke Canon, England. He married Sarah Uppey. (born 1628)George Boone was a blacksmith. note:George II was age 60 at his death, Sarah was 80. George was buried ye thirty first of May 1696, Sarah Boon "wido" was buried ye 5th of February 1708. (old style; new style 5th of February 1709.)

Henry Boone was baptized 1673 in Stoke Canon, England. He remained in England. note: Henry Son of George Boone was baptized teh nineteenth of October 1663. Henry Son of George Boone was buryed ye eighth of February 1663 (old style per Julian calendar which the 'New Year' began March 25, therefore the infant Henry would have been about 4 months old at his burial.)
George Boone III note: George Son of George Boone was baptized teh Nineteenth of March 1666 at Stoak, a village near the City of Exeter in A.D. 1666. Being a Weaver by trade, his wife's maiden name was Mary Maugridge, who was born in Brandninch, eight miles from the City of Exeter in the year 1669, being a daughter of John Maugridge and Mary, his wife whose maiden name was Milton. George and Mary Boone had nine children that lived to be men and women: namely, George, Sarah, Squire, Mary, John, Joseph, Benjamin, James and Samuel, having each of them several childern excepting John, who never married. A daughter named Mary died in infancy, so they named a later daughter Mary also.
John Boone was baptized 1673 in Stoke Canon, England. He remained in England. note: John Son of George Boone was baptized the twentieth day of April 1673. John Boone was buryed the 18th day of April 1693 being of about 20 years old.
Percis Boone was born in England, and came to America with her brother George Boone and his family in Oct., 1717. Percis Boone married George Henton 1719, George also came to America with Percis Boone and her brother. George Henton and Percis settled in Berks County, Pennsylvania.
Third Generation:
George Boone III, son of George II and Sarah Uppey Boone, was born at Stoke Canon, England a village near the City of Exeter, in 1666. He married Mary Maugridge, who was born in 1669 in Bradninch, eight miles from Exeter. She was the daughter of John and Mary Milton Maugridge. George was a weaver by trade. George III and Mary Maugridge Boone were the parents of nine children. In 1713, George sent his three oldest children to America to find land. George and Mary and their six remaining children set sail for America and arrived in Philadelphia on Oct 10, 1717. note: The said George and Mary Boone with their family, came from the Town of Bradninch in Devonshire, Old-Engleand (which is a town eight miles distance from teh City of Exeter, and 177 measured Miles westward from London); they left Brandninch the 17 Aug. 1717, and went to Bristol where they took Shipping, and arrived at Pliladelphia in 1717 September 29, Old_Stile, or October 10th New Stile; Three of their Children, to wit, George, Sarah & Squire they sent in a few Years before. From Philadelphia they went to Abington, and staid a few Months there; thence to North-Wales and liv'd about 2 years there; thence to Oley in the same County of Philadelphia, wehre Sarah (being married) had moved to some Time befoe. This last Place of tehir Risidence (since the Divisions made in the Township of Oley & County of Philadelphia) is called the Township of Exeter in the Exeter in teh County of Berks: It was called Exeter, because they came from a Place near the City of Exeter. And "He, the said George Boone the Third, died on the Sixth Day of the Week, near 8 o'clock in the Morning, on the 27th day of July 174, aged 78 years: and were decently interred in Friends Burying-Ground, in the said Township of Exeter. Whe he died, he left 8 children, 52 Grand-Children, and 10 Great-Grand-Children, Living; in all 70, being as many Person as the House of Jacob which came into Egypt." They settled in Berks County, Pennsylvania. With the exception of their son John, all of the children of George and Mary Boone married and had large families. George died at the age of 78 years in Berks County, Pennsylvania and Mary died on Feb 2, 1740 in Berks County, Pennsylvania. note: The Boone Society has the marriage record of George III & Mary Maugridge (Moggridge) on original old English hand-written document performed at St. Disen's Church in Bradninch: i. e. "George Boone married unto Mary Moggridge the 16th day of August 1689".

George Boone IV (b. 1690, England - d. 1753) m. Deborah Howell (b. 1691 - d. 1759) note: 1690 George ye son of George Boone baptized the 20th day of July (George IV). From James Boone Genealogy: " George Boone IV (the eldest son of George and Mary Boone) was born in the town of Bradninch aforesaid, on the 13th day of July 1690 about 1/2 past 5 in the Afternoon; and died in Exeter Township aforesaid, on the 20 November 1753; in the 64th Year of his Age. He taught School for several years near philadelphia; was a good Mathematician, and taught the Several Branches of English Learning; and was a Magistrate for several Years. His wife's maiden name was Deborah Howell. She died in 1759 January 26. They married 27 July 1713 in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. (page 590 of Hazel Spraker, " The Boone Family" showing minutes of teh Abington Monthly Meeting of Quakers: "5 mo 27, 1713 ( 27 July 1714-old style calendar first month was March): Whereas George Boone and Deborah Howell, the daughter of William Howell, having declared their marriage intentions before tow Mo. Meetings, Enquiry being made by persons Appointed and found Clear from all others on ye account of marriage, Did Accomplish their Marriage in ye United of friends as it is signified by their Marriage Certificate. Sarah Boone (b. 1691, England - d. ca. 1744) m. Jacob Stover (Stuber, Stowber) note: " Document owned by the Boone Society: "1692 Sarah ye daughter of George Boone baptized the 28th day of March." From James Boone Genealogy: "Sarah Boone (Daughter of George and Mary Boone) was born on the Fifth Day of the Week, about 1/2 past 11 in the Forenoon, on the 18th of February 1691-2)." Sarah married Jacob Stover 15 March 1715 in Christ Church, Pennsylvanina. (Hazel Spraker, "The Boone Family" p. 23. Jacob Stover's deed of 1738 names a wife, Margaret (Stover) who signed a deed for land sold by Jacob to another person, so Margaret was probably a second wife. It is believed that Sarah died young and had no Children.
Mary Boone (b. 1699, England - d. 1774) m. John Webb (died 1774) Married in Philadelphia (now Berks) Co. Document owned by Boone Society: "1694 Mary ye daughter of George Bone baptized the 26th day of September. 1696 Mary ye daughter of George Boone buried 20 May 1696.
Squire Boone (b. 1696, England - d. 1765,NC) m. Sarah Morgan (b. 1700 - d. 1777, NC) Document owned by Boone Society: "Squire Boone (son of George & Mary Boone) was born on the Fourth Day of the Week, between 11 & 12 in the Forenoon, on the 25 November 1696". Squire married Sarah Morgan 23 July 1720 at the Gwynned Meeting of Quakers, Berks Co, Pennsylvania. Squire died 2 January 1765 and Sarah died 1777; both buried at Mocksville, North Carolina. Mary Boone (2nd daughter named Mary of George and Mary Boone). note: Oct 13, 1699 Mary ye daughter of George Boone baptized the same day. It is not an uncommon practice to name another child the same name of one deceased in infancy. From James Boone Genealogy: "Mary Boone, daughter of Georte and Mary boone, was born Sept. 23, A. D. 1699: She was the wife of John Webb, and departed this Life the 16th of January 1774, in the 75th year of her Age; her Husband died the same Year, October 18th, in the 80th yeard of his Age." John Boone (b. 1701, England - d. 1785, PA) He was a school teacher, first to keep track of the family line, he did not marry. note: Document owned by Boone Society: "1701 John ye son of George Boone baptized January ye 30th". He was a school teacher and it was he who preserved the family births and deaths and passed it on to his nephew James (son of James and Mary) who wrote the Old James Boone Genealogy and quoted here: "John Boone, Senior (called senior by James Boone, because James also had a son named John, called John Jr.) John Boone Senior, the 3rd Son of George and Mary Boone, was born in the Town of Bradninch, in Devonshire in Old-England on the Seventh Day of the Week, about 10 or 11 O'clock in the Forenoon, on the 3 Jan 1701-2, Old-Stile, or A. D. 1702 January 14 New Stile. And he departed this Life on the 10th Day of October 1785, on the Second Day of the Week, sixteen Minutes after Midnight, in the 34th year of his Age (being the oldest of our Name & Family, that we have heard of); and was decently interred in Friends burial Ground at Exeter the next Day. He (with his parents, etc.) left Great-Britain in the 16th year of his Age, and lived Exactly 68 years here (in North-America) from the Day he landed at Philadelphia. He lived ony 5 weeks and 4 Days after the Decease of his Brother James. All Boone Relations after 1785 October 10, are American born. * note:...Sometime after 1701, but before 1717 when George III moved to America, teh George Boone III Family joined the Quakers at Collumpton, just outside of Exeter, (Devon, England) and thus baptism records for their remaining 4 children were not recorded. Their remaining 4 children were: Joseph, Benjamin, James, & Samuel and their birth and death information is known as recorded by James Boone. *
Joseph Boone (b. 1704, England - d. 1776, PA) m. Catherine Brown (b.1708 - d. 1778) note: Continuing from Janes Boone Genealogy: "Joseph Boone, son of George & Mary Boone, was born between 4 & 5 in the Afternoon, on the 5th of April 1704; and he departed this Life on the 30 January 1776, in the 72nd Year of his Age. His Wife Catherine died on the 31st of January 1778, and was interred at Exeter the next Day exactly 2 Years after the Burial of her Husband." Hazel Spraker: "8-30-1733, Joseph Boone produced a paper of condemnation for proceeding in marriage contrary to order." Sarah Ridge Rockenfield, "Our Boone Families, Daniel Boone's Kinfolks, USA Boones, gives name of wife of Joseph Boone, son of George Boone III & Mary Maugridge, as Catherine Warren. (not known to have children)
Benjamin Boone (b. 1706, England - d. 1762) m. 1) Ann Farmer 31 October 1726 at Abington, Pennsylvania (marriage recorded in the Abington Meeting of Quakers) and m. 2) Susanna/Susannah Likens/Lykins/Lycan (b. 1708 - d. ca. 1784) note: Benjamin Boone, son of George and Mary Boone, was born the 16th of July 1706, and he died on the 14th of October 1762, in the 57th Year of his Age. Susanna Boone, his Widow, died on the 5 November 1784, in the 76th Year of her Age. Spraker: When Benjamin married Susanna, it is probable that he married out of the Quaker fold, possibly about 1736 in disfavor of the Gwynedd Meeting "2-27-1736, Benjamin Boone has not been spoken to since last Meeting." Benjamin's will, he mentions "Susanah, my dearly beloved wife." This will is signed 5 Jan. 1762, proved 27 Oct 1762, recorded Berks Co. PA. James Boone Sr (b. 1709, England - d. 1785, PA) m. 1) Mary Foulke (b. 1714, PA - d. 1756) m. 2) Anne Griffith (b. 1713) James Boone, Senr, the 6th son of George & Mary Boone, was born in the town of Bradninch in Devonshire, in Old-England about 1/2 hour past 2 in the Morning, on the 7th of July (Old -Stile) or teh 18th of July (New-Style), Anno domini 1709. And in 1735 May 15 (old-style) he married Mary Foulke, by whom he had fourteen Children and Nine of them lived to be Men and Women, namely, Anne, Mary, Martha, James, John, Judah, Joshua, Rachel and Moses. The Said departed this life on the 6th Day of the Week, at 20 Minutes past one o'clock in the Afternon, on the 20th Day of February 1756, aged 41 years & 11 Weeks, and was decently interred in Friends Burying-Ground at Exeter on teh First Day of the next Week. And in 1757, October 20, he married Anne Griffith, being just 20 Months after the Decease of his former Wife. The said Mary Bonne deceased in 1756 Feb. 20, at 20 Minutes past one in the Afternoon, which wanted but two Minutes and Sixteen Seconds of 20 o'clock according to the Italian Manner of Recokoning, at sun-set, which ws the 20th of the Zenith Month ADAR, when the Moon was 20 Days old, and 4 Weeks before the Vernal Equinox. James Boone Senior, departed this Life on the 1st Day of September, A. D. 1785, on the Fifth Day of the Week, at ten Minutes after nine o'clock at Night, in the 77th Year of his Age; and was decently interred in Friends Burying-Ground at Exeter on the Seventh Da of the Same Week. He and his parents, etc., left Great-Britian in teh 9th Year of his Age, and lived almost 68 years in Pennsylvania. He was born, between 9 and 10 at Night. Mary Foule, daughter of Hugh and Anne foulke, was born at North-Wales in Philadelphia Couty, A. D. 1714 December 5 (new style), she married James 1735 May 26 and lived together 20 years and 8 months, and 25 days. She departed this Life, 1756 Feb. 20 at 20 Minutes past one in the Afternoon, in the 42nd Year of her Age. The 12 Children of James and Mary Foulke Boone: (1) Anne Boone b 5 pm 1737 Apr 14 (2) Mary Boone b 1 am 1739 Jan 28 (3) Martha Boone b 5 pm 1742 July 11 (4) James Boone Jr. b 2 am 1744 Feb 6 (5) John Boone Jr. b 2 am 1745 Nov. 21 d. 10 pm 1773 Dec 19 in the 28th Year of his Age (6)Judah Boone b 3 am 1746 Dec 19 "departed the Life on the 15th Day of May, A. D. 1787 on the thrid Day of the Week, at fifteen Minutes after Midnight, aged 40 years 4 months & e weeks & 5 Days, that is, he was in the 41st Year of his Age; and was interred in the Friend Burying-Ground at Exeter on the fourth Day of the Same Week." (7) Dinah Boone b 1748 Mar. 19 (8) Joshua Boone b 4 am 1749 Apr. 4 (9) Rachel Boone b 3 am 1750 Apr. 21 (10) Moses Boone b 3 am 1751 Aug 3 (11) Hannah Boone b 1752 June 14 deceased 1752 Aug 15 (12) Nathaniel Boone b 1753 d 1753 being 5 weeks old at his Decease.
Samuel Boone (b. ca. 1711, England - d. 1745, PA) m. Elizabeth Cassell (dau. of Arnold and Susanna Cassel of Philadelphia Samuel Boone, the youngest son of George and Mary Boone, departed this Life on the 6th of August 1745, and was buried at Exeter the next Day, aged about 34 years. Spraker, p. 49, "Samuel married Elizabeth Casssel 29 October 1734 in Pennsylvania." The 4 Childrenof Samuel Boone b abt 1711 & Elizabeth Cassel Boone: (1) Samuel Boone Jr. b 22 Mar. 1736 (2) Susannah Boone b 17 Mar. 1738 (3) Isiah Boone b 30 Aug. 1741 (4) Arnold Boone b 16 Dec. 1743.
