this past fall i visited peter sells' grave at the baptist cemetery there are no signs. it was difficult to find. there is a tombstone now. it was purchased in the late 70's by my grandpa and dad and others. it is but a 24x 12 flat stone. had it not been for the 2 rusty iron pipes we would have been unable to find it. he came to franklin county tn. in the early 1820's. he and his son homesteaded the land. he and his sons accumulated several thousands of acres by just walking off the land. he was the first of my family to come to tennessee. he was the first of 8 generationsof my family born of raised in franklin co. tn.
