Feitel Kohn-Zerkowitz was likely born in Zerkow but moved to Moravia when still in his youth. He lived in Mahr. Weisskirchen for his entire life. When he died in 1809, he is seen as a resident of household #113 in the town's Jewish quarter. He is referenced in the following document from 1788:
"The place at the wall [by] the wall, which is right above the Menorah and below the wall, three square meters, three quarters Amah wide, belongs half to Baruch Leibush, the son-in-law of FRANZ ZORKOWICH, and the other half belongs to the inquirer, MICHAEL, son of FEITLE." [Note: The "inquirer" is Michael Zerkowitz, eldest son of Feitel, and in this document, "Franz Zorkowich" and "Feitle" are the same person.]
Feitel Kohn-Zerkowitz may have also been known as "Philip". He is said to have been the wealthiest Jew residing in Mahr. Weisskirchen.
According to his descendant Emil Zerk, "[Feitel] had four sons and two daughters. One son went to Budapest, one to Prague, and two went to Trencin..."
