Charles & IVY FLETCHER ( Dan's sister) took him into their home at 3, Ivy Cottages 18, Station Rd Halstead on the death of his mother ,when he was about 13 yrs old, Eileen Gordon( formerly FLETCHER)remembers Dan coming to live with the family before Ivan FLETCHER was born. By deduction this could have been circa 1935 when presumably he would have attended Halstead Village School until he started work.
