Peter Brickey/Winifred Lucas WILL

In the name of God amen. I Peter Brickey of the county of Westmoreland
and Parish of Cople being weak and sick in body but of perfect mind and
memory theanks be given unto God, and therefore calling to mind the
mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all people once
to die do make constitute, ordain and declare this to be my last will and
testament revoking and anulling all and every will and wills, testaments
and testaments heretofore by me made and declared either by word or
writing, do acknowledge this only to be my last will and testament.
Principally and forst of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands
of Almighty God that gave it nothing doubting but to receive the same
again at the general resurection by the mighty power of God; and my body
I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the
discretion of my Executors hereafter named. And now as touching such
worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I
give devise and dispose of in the following manner and form--

Imprimis: I will that all my just debts and funeral charges be paid out
of my estate within convenient time after my decease.
Item, I give unto my loving wife, WINIFRED BRICKEY the use of all my estate during her
natural life and widowhood, and at the decease of my said wife, or at her
marriage I give and dispose of my estate as follows:
Item, I give and bequeath unto my son GERARD Brickey my negro fellow Joe and my copper
still to him and his heirs forever.
Item, I give unto my son JOHN Brickey my negro fellow Daniel to him and to his heirs forever.
Item, I give unto my son PETER Brickey, my negro boy named Ben, to him and his
heirs forever also 1 negro girl named Betty to him and his heirs forever.
Item, I give unto my son WILLIAM Brickey my negro boy named Tom and my
negro woman named Mima and her child Ned and all her future increse to
him and his heirs forever.
Item, I give unto my grandson PETER Brickey, the son of GERARD Brickey, my negro girl named Molly the daughter of Mima
to him and his heirs forever.
Item, I give unto my grandson, GERARD Brickey, the son of JOHN Brickey my negro girl named Jenny to him and his
heirs forever.
Item, I give unto my grandaughter NANCY KIRKHAM my negro
girl named Prue to her and her heirs forever.
Item, I give unto my grand daughter WINNY LUCAS GARNER one bed and furniture.
I also desire that my old negro woman Prue may have her liberty to choose her master of any of
my children, who may take her at praisement price and what ever the said
price is, with all the residue of my estate not yet mentioned;
my will and desire is that it be equally divided amongst all my children to wit:
Gerard Brickey, John Brickey, Peter Brickey, William Brickey, Temperance
Morgan, Dorcas Garner, Winefred Kirkham, and Ann Sanford.
And lastly I appoint my beloved wife Winefred Brickey, with my two sons Peter and
William Brickey my executrix and executors to this my last will and
testament.
In wittness whereof I have herunto set my hand and seal this
sixteenth day of September one thousand seven hundred and eighty six---

Signed sealed and acknowledged by the said Peter Brickey as his last will
and testament in presence of James Howe, William Weathers, William
Middleton
