Added 20100102, by LaSalle McCants. According to the 1900, US Census, Hattie Ross, was the Stepdaughter of James and Mary Houston of Morning Star,Mecklenburg, North Carolina. James and Mary had three children. James Jr.16, Carry,18, Georgia,15, and one Stepdaughter Hattie Ross, age 14. Grandma Hattie according to the Census of 1930, she was born in Alabama. Mary Houston is Hattie Ross's Stepmother. She was the Great grandmother/"Big Mama' I knew as child. She passed away around 1947/48 in Cleveland,OH. It was at that time we were living on 63rd and Outhwaite. Great grandma Mary was born aroung 1868, her husband James was born in 1854, in North Carolina. They married in North Carolina in 1891. I posted the wrong year of Grandma Hatties death in her profile. I will attempt to retrieve and correct the info in her profile.
