The best way to handle this is to merge your new profile with the existing one. then you can manage the privacy of the profile and do what you want with it. the indexing at geni is slow and so it may take a few days to do this. also, because you are Chris and the profile is Christophe we may have trouble merging. it is hard to do without access to your tree. but you should have access to the Christophe profile and should be able to "move" your profile onto it. What you can do is go to tree view, then on your own profile select "move". this will put a copy of your profile tab in the upper right. now search for and find the Christophe profile. look at it is tree view. you will see your profile still in the upper right corner. you can then drag your profile onto the Christophe profile and initiate the merge.
alternatively, you can join my family group and i can do it for you.
and by the way, i have not heard of anyone using geni for committing fraud by impersonating someone (so-called "identity theft") in fact, most of those crimes are committed in a completely different way, often by people who personally know the victim and target him/her.
