Middle name

Mai, Maj and May is a female name in Scandinavia, and of course also used as a middle name and in some instances also used as a family names.

I don't know, but we have many in our line also. But with the women, they are all spelled "Mae" rather than those shown above. We have Nellie Mae, Honor Mae, and Annie Mae, Just to name some.

Ruth Oettel's sister's name is Ella May (Armstrong) Sanders. I suppose it could have been Ella Mae.
