I am not convinced the narrative is correct there. Frankly, I hope no one tries to change anything here on this profile until more proof is found. It could be a "sensible relationship" as it would make the Roberts line in Aynor, Horry County, SC connected with the Roberts line in Marion County, SC as I have always suspected, but not as obviously.

The Family Search tree has James descending from John Richard Roberts, Sr. (1678-1765) and Hannah Webster (1703-1754).

John Richard Roberts, Jr. is noted as the ancestor of Pvt. Henry Roberts, (CSA) who moved from Wayne County, NC to Horry County, SC before the Civil War. A group of his relatives seem to have moved down at the time. I imagine that it will take DNA to make a determination if the two lines are really connected, but I don't think that they may have immigrated from Wales at the same time, that is for sure from what I can determine regarding the possible relations of James Roberts if they are kin. That they all came into Carterett County, NC (which butted up to Wayne or included it depending on the time), is not an impossibility.

More research is needed. I added a note onto James' Family Search profile. Lots of issues with this line, it seems.

Erica Howton, can you lock the profile of James G Roberts ? I don't think we want parents added until we can find more information.

Thanks.

Relationships locked.

Thanks, Erica Howton. I will do some more research. While I can accept some of this at face value for the purpose of how groups migrated, I don't think we have any substantial proof of the relationships - yet.
