hi all,
here are a couple of cuts to make.
obviously I don't start doing them on my own since I see some PMs that more (C) has worked on from different sides.

I have framed the situation a bit, I hope I can describe it, not so that you understand it, more than anything to indicate where to fit, plus by calling https://www.geni.com/threads/6000000217429033821 I am sure that we will sort it out without problems.

let's start from the side of Tetberga which is not actually known to be a Savoy, much less precisely daughter of Amedee I de Savoie, "la Queue" comte de Maurienne et de Chablais (CUT1)

she also has a 3rd mono 2016 ADMN husband /!\ Gerold II Etichonid of Geneva, Count of Geneva
is this is not a DUP of her 2nd Gerold I, count of Geneva (1012-1061) ..WTH is he?
does not appear on his father MP's MLs of Gerhard I von Egisheim, Graf von Egisheim (CUT2?)

easy right? No wait, now let's go and examine the 1st husband's side:

MP ML Louis I, seigneur de Faucigny is only ML husband of Tetberga (no surname parentless)

his 3rd wife Gisela of Burgundy (parent less) come from LEO (if you know you know)
but she is also wife of Gerold I, count of Geneva (the 2nd husband of the first this discussed Tetberga#/tab/discussion)

it is therefore clear that
Gisela of Burgundy
& Tetberga#/tab/discussion they should be the same person with suggested surnames without primary sources.

the simplest thing would be to put them and remove the surnames and father (CUT1)
but name, surname etc etc don't match at all, plus LEO is often followed: would it be a good idea to isolate him and brand him in some way?

work in progress: signs & drawings left, reread everything with open map (open 2 generations above, 1 below:)
please: since many (C) with different processing methods will receive this notification, do not start breaking everything down, if no one has other known sources to add, the selective cuts are only a couple, please I repeat please do not start breaking everything down. TNX

See you later!

..plus by calling Erica Howton I am sure that we will sort it out without problems.

I haven’t studied yet so not doing anything yet.

plus LEO is often followed: would it be a good idea to isolate him and brand him in some way?

Yes, that’s a good idea, with links in the “abouts.”

Do you have the link to LEO handy so we can see his citations?

A note about references:

For those who don’t know Leo, it’s the database from the late Leo van der Pas, and an excellent resource for European genealogy. And easy to read and use. However, Charles Cawley’s Medieval Lands (Medlands), much less user friendly, is continual work in progress based on primary sources. So Geni’s medievalists turn there as first choice; which doesn’t mean the entries are complete.

I've checked on my own Curated profiles here, and taken over the couple that were being curated by people no longer coming on to Geni.

Terry Jackson (Switzer) I think some of the profiles mentioned here are yours too.

from the medlands of Gerold I, count of Geneva (added updated)

Ok, his 2 distinct and different now all parentless wives:
1# Gisela of Burgundy (surname by?)
2# Tetberga
are both well supported by primary sources, (apart from the surname of the first)

for the rest I see the cuts made, & wandering alone /!\ Gerold II Etichonid of Geneva, Count of Geneva
luckily with my texttags notes, sign, and JPG at least inside.

I don't Curate Gisela. Feel free to open a research discussion on Tetberga's parents from her profile:

As shown here, Géraud is recorded with two possible wives. Given the likely dating of his [second] marriage, it is difficult to assess whether, in this scenario, his [first wife] Gisela or his [second] wife Tetberga would have been the daughter of Kuno Graf von Rheinfelden. It should be noted that Armin Wolf, linking the etymology of “sororinus” with “sobrinus” and by extension “consobrinus”, suggests that Géraud and Rudolf were first cousins, sons of two sisters[30]. However, this interpretation requires reading “sororini” as “consororini”, which stretches the natural interpretation of the passage. If Géraud’s wife was Rudolf’s sister, presumably she could have been the same person as Kuno’s daughter shown in the document SWABIA NOBILITY (in which case she would be identified as Géraud’s [first wife] Gisela).] https://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/burgkgenev.htm#GeraudGenevadied1061

When I remove profiles that appear to have been mismerged into the tree, I never automatically delete them - especially not those with active managers. Often they have other relationships attached to them, but even if they don't, I leave it to the manager to see what they want to do with it. This profile is not a deliberately created duplicate, and the manager could experience it as unneccessarily aggressive if I just deleted it for him.

I'm not interested in getting into your typical snarky back and forth, that moves Discussions nowhere productive, so I won't be coming back to respond.

yes exactly, I think that anyone who cuts something, should leave the same ones, they are not very difficult or complicated:

After someone who has really studied the knot for the time appropriate to make cuts, wasting a couple more minutes should not be a problem.

And I am sure that I do not need to dwell further on all the intrinsic utilities, that such notes leave to the present and future admins.

anyway all SOLVED here.
(and I went around leaving the texttags notes on both sides of the cut nodes:)
for the unsourced surname Gisela of Burgundy It seems another discussion would be welcome.
