Best practice re: Sources

Can you also post the GEDCOM starting lines (the ones before the first person data).
Geni does not specify what versions of the GEDCOM standard are supported, so it could be you are using a not fully supported version.

As far as I have ever been able to tell - the "Documents" Geni creates from importing Sources on Ancestry as part of importing folks from Ancestry are totally useless.
Over the years, they have done it several different ways.
All totally useless except to let you know perhaps a category of record existed on the Ancestry Tree for that record at the time it was imported.

Current iteration - I can see up tp 5 listed, if I click on one, I am told I do not have permission to view it. If I click "View All" I am told there are No Documents (unless some real ones have also been added (those will show).
In my view, this is actually better than showing all those pretend Documents making it hard for folks to register documents that sctually are useful.

It is one of the reasons I much preferred folks use Smart Copy - and loathed (and still loathe) Gedcom imports from Trees on Ancestry that were/are well documented

My GEDCOM file was opened with EXEL in ordre label each line with its rank and later imported in Ms Word for ease of search

You have some lines starting with " that could be a problem. If I look at the characters, I'm not sure they are really UTF-8, but that could be a problem with posting here.
lines with _APID will probably not be recognizes by Geni. Also the are multiple sources on the same level, that could also be a problem.

I have absolutely no idea what that ends up creating on Geni
nor what you are hoping it creates.

If you would like someone who is neither a Curator nor in your or the Profile's Max Family to look and let you know if it creates anything they can access, and if so what, I am perfectly willing to look at a few and let you know.

The version of Gedcom that Ancestry uses is indicated at the beginning of the extract I provided. I am not sure how I could possibly change the version. If I were to provide a Gedcom file with a non-compatible version, Gini should inform me, shouldn't they? . N'est-ce pas?
