My mother, Marie Johns, was born in Sydney, Australia in1932. She married Ronald Leslie Johns in 1956. Sadly mum died in 2017. I have been trying to research her mother's ancestry, as she knew very little about their roots.
Her parents were Joseph Cruice & Doris Muriel Weinberg. Doris was the daughter of Ernst Rudolph Weinberg & Harriet Edwards, who both migrated to Australia in the late 1800's.
Harriet was from England and Ernst arrived here on the ship called the St Mildred from Reval, Russia. (Now known as Tallin, the capital of Estonia). With the help of a lady in Estonia, I have discovered that Juhan Mandjalg was the father of Mart Mandjalg (1858 changed to Weinberg later in life). Mart was the father of Ernst Rudolph Weinberg who was born in March 1862 on the Vohnja manor in Kadrina parish, Virumaa.
Ernst Rudolph Weinberg & Harriet Mary Edwards were married in Sydney in 1889. One of their daughters, Doris Muriel Weinberg, married Joseph James Cruice in 1928. My mum, Marie Doris Cruice was their daughter, born in 1932. Is there anyone in Australia or in Estonia that may also have living relatives linked to this Weinberg family ?
