Oddly, didn't see any mention of DNA even though there exists a MacAlpine DNA Project sponsored by Family Tree DNA...however I suggest checking out Rob Spencer's "Tracking Back", and his "Macro Genealogy " at his site scaledinnovation.com, he develops a Y-DNA analysis strongly suggesting the DNA existence of Siol Alpin, a DNA demonstration of relationships between the traditional Clans of Siol

Earl, do you have a tree that goes back to Alpin, if so where may i see it, thanks Bill Allan

Hello Bill, welcome

Well, someone has made a new profile of Kenneth I which now points you, first, to the wrong profile, at the moment that is a big problem there is also a new profile made of @Ada de Huntingdon, Countess of Holland (Ada of Scotland Huntingdon, Countess of Holland and the Master Profile is harder to find. Search for Kenneth I Mac Alpine, king of the Picts. @Kenneth I Mac Alpine, king of the Picts

Kenneth I Mac Alpine, king of the Picts is my paternal and maternal 32nd great grandfather, I descend from 2 children of Malcolm III namely Mary of Scotland Dunkeld via John I and John II, Dukes of Brabant and Limburg (proven ancestors) and from David I via William III, Count of Holland.

Kenneth I Mac Alpine, king of the Picts is my paternal and maternal 32nd great grandfather,

→ Kenneth I Mac Alpine, king of the Picts (his father)

There is another line that runs to both my parents from my proven ancestor John II, Duke of Brabant and Limburg, son of John I.
And a line that runs from William III, Count of Holland via Floris III and his wife Ada of Holland/ Huntingdon, Countess of Holland my paternal and maternal 23rd great grandparents to David i..

Unfortunately it is impossible to get a DNA profile to be linked to Kenneth I personally as no personal DNA is known from him. A DNA test would only be able to indicate whether you share Scottish and Pictish DNA with the modern MacAlpines.

kind regards, Angelique (Angelina Nota -Kruize)
