Meir Perels claims that the Krol family is a descendant of the son of the Maharal of Prague.

I wonder if there is any reference to this...and I wonder for one reason: the Krol family are descendants of Shaul Whal Katzenlenbogen, how is it possible that they would be son after son of the Maharal of Prague
?
Did one branch change the family name to the Krol family name?

I forgot to mention: I am a descendant of the Krol family from Kalisz, and I have a file containing about 900 tombstones from Kalisz... I was surprised to find members of the Kroll family, some of whom are Choanim, some are Levites, and some are neither.
