Wikitree – https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Smith-13640 – does not show Mercy as having marred (2d) James Macor Maker, Sr. . The Geni person-profile for William's 1st wife, Rachel Maker , shows her death before 1740.
In Mercy's Will and Probate she's called Mercy Newcomb, which Wikitree summarized thusly:
"The will of Mercy Newcomb of Sandwich, widow and relict of Peter Newcomb was dated 19 August 1723 and proved on 17 January 1723/24 in Barnstable. She mentioned her daughter Marcy Dimmock, and her son William Newcomb (executor)."
