I saw something in smart matches for a Siebelt Gerdes Freese in FamilySearch trees.
So I opened it up and looked at the sources..
I suspect that this record is actually Charles.
The year of birth is exactly one year earlier to the day. The fornames are the same, except that Charles is missing.

I'll search around a little more as this record is a tantalising clue to potentially find his origins
