My grandmother Magnhild Trulsen (nee Kvaale) came from or had connections/family in a tiny community called Kvål near Melhus in (South) Trøndelag. The village is situated by the river Gaula in Gauldalen, approximately six kilometres south of Melhus. Kvål had a population of 443 by 1. januar 2023.
It's possible that at least name is an older form of the village name.
