Oliver Otto Isom - John David Isom is NOT the father of Oliver Otto Isom.

Somewhere the records of who Oliver's father was got messed up. John David Isom was the son of David Isom. I first found the mistake on Oivers death certificate that was made by the wife of his son James Lyman (squeak) Isom, one Letha Isom/Brand. She my not have known the correct name..

John David Isom died within a few days of David Isom his father of the same illness, as it was recorded in a letter found in the family bible that was from his wife Nancy Ann Isom to their son William Isom. in Mid December 1878.

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean. According to the 1880 cencus, Oliver (2) and John David (13) are brothers and the sons of Nancy and David.

The records on Find a graveand some other wesites show John David Isom as being the father of Otto Oliver Isom. Which is incorrect.

I put the wrong date in for the letter. It was written in December of 1898
