It's apparent from the way that my descent falls from this OP profile ("Gospatrick who never ruled anything), that it's been conflated with another Gospatrick, son of Maldred and Ealdgyth, daughter of Uhtred the Bold, Earl of Northumbria (died 1016) and Ælfgifu who is a daughter of Æthelred II.
That Gospatrick would be this Gospatrick's father's grandson by his stepmother, the anglo-saxon princess.

The History of Richard Prior of Hexham records the devastations of "Eadgarus filius nothus Cospatrici comitis et Robertus et Uctred filii Meldred, principales ac duces" in Northumbria, dated to the 1130s from the context[1373]. The Obituary in the Liber Vitæ of Durham records the death "VIII Id Nov" of "Uhtredus filius Maldredi"[1374]. m ---. The name of Uhtred’s wife is not known. Uhtred & his wife had [two] children:

Durham. m as her first husband, ISABEL de Neville, daughter of GEOFFREY de Neville & his wife Emma de Bulmer (-before May 1254). "Robert fitz Maldred, who has to wife Isabella, sister and heiress of…Henry de Neville" paid homage to the king "for the lands formerly of Henry de Neville", dated to [Mar] 1227[1379]. She married secondly Gilbert de Brakenberg. Robert & his wife had one child:
a. GEOFFREY FitzRobert (-1242). He assumed the name Neville after his mother's family.

There's a tremendous amount of information on Maldred's lineage in MedLands, and it's obvious that "Gospatrick" was a very popular name for their boys.
