Thank you for that information, Carl Gustav, and for your attempts to help! In the hope of making my problems with Geni easier to understand by Geni central management, I am now re-stating this pitiful history of problems in English, as follows:
The current situation is that my name appears in its original entry as Lydia Straus-Edwards, and also as a second entry of sister to the first, also called Lydia Straus-Edwards, and my new professional membership is through this second, incorrect, entry.
All was going well until I changed my email address some months ago. In anticipation of the problem, I emailed Geni several times for help in updating the email address because the online instructions did not work. Since I received no response to several requests, logging in became difficult and uncertain, so I canceled my professional membership.
Then, I requested help from my distant relative, Norbert Bosse, who attempted to help by listing me as his relative, with the intent that I would then be able to enter the site and correct the entry by merging it with my correct entry. That worked in permitting my entry to the Geni website, once again.
I then subscribed to a professional membership through this new entry of my name, and its associated email, as I used the updated email in establishing this new account.
Then, I attempted to move my entry to the correct position in the family tree, but that was not successful because the result was two entries, my original one and myself as a sister of the original entry. No attempt to correct this worked and I attempted the following:
First, I successfully removed the original email from my original entry, as that address no longer exists.
Next, I attempted to enter the correct, new email (otterlyd@yahoo.com) for the first Lydia Straus-Edwards. That was not accepted because the email is already in use by the second Lydia Straus-Edwards and I was not able to remove it nor change it.
Thus, all is stuck in this incorrect mode.
The best resolution would be to transfer the newly purchased professional membership to the original Lydia Straus-Edwards and enter the correct email address under this original entry and then delete the incorrect entry. This would preserve the entire, extensive family tree connections. Keeping the second Lydia Straus-Edwards entry would lose this family tree, so that option is much worse.
A second option, I have set up a new email account, otterlyd@gmail.com, which I have no intent to use much, but it could become the email address for the original Lydia Straus-Edwards entry. Then, it would only be necessary to transfer my professional membership to that entity.
Hopefully, someone can figure out how to correct this. Otherwise, I guess I will just need to give up and withdraw from Geni entirely, out of frustration.
Best regards and in hope,
Lydia Straus-Edwards

Lydia as a PRO member can open a ticket so that Geni customer support can straighten her out.
