Managers of Catherine Marie Halderman,
I am contacting all of you about this profile: Catherine Marie Halderman
I am wondering why she (Catherine) is listed as the child of Johan Krey? His will dated 14 Feb 1719 clearly states, "First, etc., etc., to Sytge, my dearly beloved wife....etc., etc., as also for herself and HER four children, viz: Deborah, Sussannah, Catharine and John...one half of all the estate...in equal shares among them. Item, my dear children - William, Maria, Peter and Jacob I give the other half...etc., etc."
He does not say "our" four children. Yet, when he refers to his own children with his first wife he refers to them as "my."
Syltge OpDenGraeff is my 7th great-grandmother and her daughter, Catherine, my 6th great-grandmother. Every source document, tree, Find-a-Grave says my Catherine is the daughter of John/Johan Krey but his will says different. I have to think that if my Catherine was his daughter then he would have said, "...as also for herself and OUR four children." But, he says, "..her four children."
Does anyone have a source document that is not from another tree or Find-a-Grave that clearly shows that Johan Krey is the father of my Catherine? Any help is appreciated.
Sincerely,
Michelle de Bodt Rosenland
