As far as I know it has been Geno's policy not to allow descent from antiquity (exilarchs included).
If this profile is a descendent then I think the Horowitz family should be reconnected to its exilarch ancestors too.

Geni, of course.

There is no exception to any rule here...there is only an explanation for those who are interested in delving deeper and researching that he is the 10th generation from
https://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D7%9E%D7%A8_%D7%A2%D7%95%D7%A7%D7%91...

So could we by the same logic connect other branches as an "explanation"? Could this apply to the Horowitz family as well?

Once upon a time I was informed by GENI authorities that this sort of hypothetical connection is against GENI policies. I am not sure of the current status of these policies.

Personally, I believe that hypothetical trees do have a place on GENI, if they are not so intertwined with verified/sourced trees so as to create the appearance of established and accepted truth. This particular pedigree seems to be far from settled, see for example https://davidicdynasty.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/meizels.pdf showing a different construction in this area.

Personally, I am more interested in how the J-M410 (Ydna J-M410) grouping was identified for this lineage. If someone could please explain the M410 connection I would be grateful. Thanks in advance.

I believe so too, Private User, which is why my questioning is not for the purpose of disconnecting these profiles, but rather connecting other branches (such as Horowitz or Rashi) to the exilarchs.

I'm sorry, I only now noticed the actions of
Moshe Ezriel Meisels

who opened 9 following profiles with an unknown name and thus connected to
Ukba ben Nechemya (Ukvan), 17th Exilarch

I think it's against the Geni rules

by the way,
I previously tried to find information regarding the continuity of the Meisels family tree, and I was unable to find information beyond what is written in Geni.

It is possible that the family was a descendant of Rashi, but even so, I have no idea how, and this is also the answer regarding the Halevi Horowitz family

Sorry, what I meant by Rashi and Horowitz was that these families may also be connected to the exilarchs based upon the same logic. Rashi has a claim of descent from Hillel Hazaken - 'The Elder', President, The Sanhedrin. Shouldn't this one be shown on Geni too?

Rashi was a descendant of
Hillel Hazaken - 'The Elder', President, The Sanhedrin

But since I don't have any information about the Meisels and HaLevi Horowitz families beyond the information that appears in Geni, and I don't know where they originally came from,I have no idea whether they are descendants of Rashi or not, although I must point out that the researchers claim that most Ashkenazi families are descendants of Rashi,

I am attaching the things written in Wikipedia on the subject:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meisel_family

Moshe Ezriel Meisels
He was not mistaken in connecting to
Ukba ben Nechemya (Ukvan), 17th Exilarch
But I think that opening 9 unknown profiles in a row in connection with a certain person is against Geni's policy

Ok, severed the fake connection.

Thank you
