I am not a very experienced worker in genealogy. It is important for an application to genealogical societies to have credible proof of (1) Lucy Carter being the child of Colonel Robert "King" Carter, I and Elizabeth 'Betty' Carter and (2) Lucy Carter being married to Col. Henry Fitzhugh, of 'Eagle's Nest' and, later, to Col. Nathaniel Harrison, Jr.
The online services seem to believe both 1 & 2, but when it comes down to having a credible source they are not helpful. "King" Carter's tombstone does not mention Lucy and I have seen a note that questions her status due to his will. The information in www.geni.com seems to present the important facts, but it does not seem, to my untrained eye, to reference sources.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
