Cawley puts her birth year at 1215 then shows Eleanor’s marriage to William Marshal on 23 Apr 1224 – at Age 9/

However, Douglas Robinson’s “Plantagenet Ancestry”, Vol. 1, pp. 395 states:
“4. ELEANOR OF ENGLAND, born at Gloucester in 1215. She was married (1st) (as his 2nd wife) by betrothal dated 23 April 1225 WILLIAM MARSHAL, Knt., 5th Earl of Pembroke…”
Robinson does not go on to prove that Eleanor and William actually married.

It seems no sourced children came out of Eleanor’s assumptive first marriage to William, which is often where one find's parentage.
Therefore, I argue that did not marry unless some source is out there showing a marriage right before William died.
