Dear Michael Creston McGowan Huey,
Further research never hurts, as records are often lacking the further back in time we go genealogically speaking. Many pre-Revolution records were lost or destroyed during the war, leaving some profiles such as that of the one in question, Elizabeth Connett a bit sketchier than we would like to see.
However the Elizabeth married to Gardner Connett can't be the same as John Marsh 's daughter, Elizabeth Pack , whose marriage to Job Pack, Sr. is proven with an official abstract of her father's will which describes her as Job Pack's wife.
That record is found in Calendar of New Jersey Wills, p. 322. I had only to read John Marsh's Geni and Findagrave bios to see that genealogists had already found and cited a reference to that record. Then it was a simple matter of finding and citing the actual text from which it originated.

Since we know beyond any reasonable doubt that John Marsh of Elizabethtown, N.J.'s daughter actually did in fact marry and have children with Job Pack, we must assume that Elizabeth (Marsh?) Connett (m. Gardner Connett) is not the same person.
At least and until we find proof otherwise. "Proof" could be some sort of official record or family bible, or even a well-researched published family history, with the relevant information.
Does [Elizabeth (Marsh) Connett m. Gardner Connett] deserve further research and proof? Yes, absolutely. But as of now this is all we have. And we can say with a fair amount of certainty that any Elizabeth who may have married and had children with a Gardner Connett in Westfield, N.J. is most likely not the same person as Elizabeth who married Job Pack.
Sincerely,
Debra
