Primary documentation found in Nicholls, A.J., Collections for the Ancestry of Colonel Richard Lee, Virginia Emigrant, pp. 139-141; privately printed, 2011, clearly indicates that Elizabeth was *first* wife and that the marriage was contracted quite early, no later than 1481, (Even Nicholls, following the secondary sources, got this wrong.)
Alice was Fulk Lee's wife of record at the time of his death, which means that *she*, not Elizabeth Leighton, was the second wife.
