Many family trees give him the middle name "Jackson," but not a single primary source lists a middle name for him, to include the will of his father, Aquilla Lane, and the widow's pension application of his mother, Agnes Lane. Both of these sources list the middle names for children who had them (John King Lane and Thomas Jefferson Lane), so if Garrett had a middle name, surely it would have been listed, too.
