Logan. If you want to know who your family was, first take dna tests. As a late in life discovery adoptee who never knew about the secret I was adopted in Germany and born to a French Jew from Strasbourg France, the dna tests I've taken began to open a whirlwind of info about my family from Europe. Research all search engines like Family Search which is free to use, immigration, ports of entry, census records, family including newly found genetic cousins. For me, I found out very recently I am related to former Sec of State- Henry Kissinger via my Julich/Stern/Kissinger links and also Julius "J' Robert Oppenheimer via my Oppenheimer/Stern links, both from Germany. I'm sure I will find my connection to my being related to Albert Einstein too. Keep trying. If I can be if help, please reach out to me
It would help if you didn't make your relatives or your tree private so that others can try to make connections to them. Also, the more relatives you add to your tree the better. Just a couple of suggestions and I wish you the best of luck. Feel free to ask any questions you have, and we will try our best to help. 😊
We'd love to help but we need a starting point like the names and dates of any family members of whom you are aware and whether living or deceased. The relationship of each of these to you would be helpful. Genealogy can be difficult and frustrating and may lead you down many blind alleys but stick to it. The results are gratifying.
Jackie Frant Lynn Arsanis I’ve looked at a few family trees here and I don’t think any of us are related lol. I barely use this website and I don’t think I even have much of a tree here. The only person who can answer why we're here is Частный профиль and until I have any info to go off of I’m disregarding this forum. Take care :)
My father's line, the Thorne family, goes back to England in the 1600s and includes other lines like Isherwood, Mills, Addison, Meshaw, and Wisner. On the other hand, my mother's line, Taylor, has roots in North Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. It also includes the Jenkins, Wenner, and Evans families. If anyone feels they might have a connection with any of these families or would like some help, please contact me.
Lot of people responding with seemingly no return response. Adding my 2 cents- I am kin to Mary Brooks 7th grandmother born in 1715 Buckinghamshire England. She married John Chapman IV born March 18, 1716 in Cutcombe,,Somerset England. Both had Sephardic Jewish ancient names found in Alexander Bier's Sephardic Handbook of Names. Their daughter's name was Elizabeth Chapman born May 23, 1743 also in Cutcombe, Somerset England and she was a ;professional Draper and Shopkeeper. Note of interest: Just because a person was "baptized" doesn't mean they weren't Jewish. One just needs to read the history of Jewish people and how they were forced to hide their identity ro know this. Some stayed with the Christian belief others didn't. The surname "Brooke's is a derivative of the Jewish name "Baurch". Elizabeth Chapman married Christopher Ridler of Luccombe Somerset England was also Jewish and a professional baker. Their daughter Mary married James Archibald Pitts. Pitts name from my best estimation but still double checking to make sure, goes all the way back to King David and beyond. AGAIN, still checking this line carefully. Lot of family here trying to help you hope you can see how much we all care.
Hi Geraldine West! I have many "West's" in my tree who all seem to be cousins except one who was born in 1639 King William Virginia. She was my 9th GGrandmother and married John William Woodward of Arseley, Bedfordshire, England. The "other West's" were and aunt by marriage, Wilma "Willie" Josephine Elizabeth West who married Jefferson "Jeff" Tillman Wall. Jefferson was the son of Enoch William Wall, my second great grandfather. Might we be related?
First of all if you want help we need to know your birth situation. Are you adopted? That takes you down a different search path. If your parents are your birth parents then you need to reveal your mother’s maiden name, your grandparents names etc. You will not get very far without divulging that information. If you are REALLY serious about finding information a DNA test is the fastest and best way to start. Whatever your reason, don’t drag your feet. Unfortunately, DNA test were not available when I was younger. I was adopted and always wondered what happened. It took me over 50 years to finally find my birth parents who were both deceased by then. But I finally did a DNA test and a whole new world opened up for me. It was the best thing I ever did.
