There is a conflicting source saying his father was Samuel Menashe (source: Esther Fintz Menasce's book on a "History of Jewish Rhodes"), but a recent article translating a 1901 Ladino Article by Avraham Galante (https://www.flipsnack.com/E5AC8FAA9F7/ke-haber-june-2023/full-view....) confirmed that Moshe's father was Eliyahu and his uncle was Samuel.. This also makes sense when you consider that one of Moshe's sons was Eliahu (Elias, Liachon) who was probably named in the Sephardi tradition of naming after grandparents.
