Suzanne, the only dna line we have from Lazarus b1683 that has been proven is his Ydna line which has been tested all the way out to the Big Y 700 markers and SNP verification through the FTdna testing. That lists a proven SNP pathway which must be the same for all descendants in his line: R-FT74278 Y-DNA haplogroup. This haplogroup is listed with all of its linked testers who have joined the group. It is listed at the FTdna Stewart of Bute Project who notified us that Lazarus came from the direct all male line from the Stewart of Bute family whose founder was one of the sons of King of Scots Robert II Stewart a grandson of King of Scots Robert the Bruce. The Stewart of Bute family is characterized by the Haplogroup R-FTT46. There are about 9 all male testers shown with descent from Lazarus in the Bute group. Now if you try to link dna using the other 45 chromosomes, you would have to use other dna tests like the autosomal or the FT family finder tests. But that would be using percentages. Those having a Gedmatch number and file from the family could help. Anybody have any other ideas?

In the last sentence the dna test is called the Family Finder from FTdna.com. That can help to find some connections in families in your past.
