About says:
"James Anderson is a common name. James d. 1822 is the father of Isaac b. 1785 NC, Asa b. 1788 GA and Sarah b. 1792 GA. Some years ago descendants of James and these children used a connection with Agnes Craig to establish membership in the DAR. For a time, this was recognized by the DAR. Then after further research, the DAR canceled the memberships based on Agnes Craig being James' wife, and the mother of Isaac, Asa, and Sarah. The Agnes Craig wife is in many family trees as the wife of James d. 1822, but based on the DAR decision, that is in error."

BUT there is NO notice on his DAR record here: https://services.dar.org/Public/DAR_Research/search_adb/?action=ful...

It simply shows one wife named AGNES CRAIG
and their children:
WILLIAM m. [1] MARY HUNTER MCELDOWNEY
SARAH m. [1] WILLIAM ORR
ISAAC m. [1] TERESIA POWELL m. [2] SARAH DEASON
MARY m. [1] JAMES WATSON
ANN m. [1] JAMES ORR

The FindaGrave https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/56929370/sarah_collins for Sarah M. Collins
shows a stone with dates August 29, 1792 and died "DAY OF 1855"
never seen anything like THAT... and no idea how old the stone is but does not appear to be from 1855.

The Bio there suggests she is conflated.
It says:

"Sary was married to Stacy Collins. They had 14 children. They lived in Jones Co. Mississippi and then in about 1852 moved to Jefferson County and later the area they lived in became Hardin County, Texas in 1858.There seems to be a mistake made on Sary's tombstone date. 1860 Hardin, Hays Texas Census - Sarah was still Alive. Sarah Collins 67 b. abt 1793 Female, b. Georgia, occupation Farmer
Is 67 years old - ALIVE - living with her two sons Newton, b. 1830 & Edwin b. 1840
Someone has linked Sarah to James and Agnes Anderson as her parents. I have no proof this is correct. But findagrave will not let me unlink them."

I am here due to "chasing the DNA" and James is my cousin's 5th great grandfather.

Stacy B. Collins 's profile has the answer of the stone (1960):
Stacy married Sarah Anderson 1 April 1808 in Twiggs Co. Georgia.
They had 14 children.
They and some of their children moved to Texas from Jones Co. Mississippi in about 1852.
They moved to Jefferson County, Texas and then in 1858 the area they lived in was formed into Hardin County, Texas.
They would have lived in North East part of Jefferson County, Texas.
They are buried in Collins Cemetery. "Hardin County Texas Cemeteries" by Southeast Texas Gen. & Historical Society.
Says Collins Cemetery on Hwy 69. Listed in #26 Collins Cemetery, page 112, Stacy Collins.
Their graves can be located today, in a pasture beneath a majestic tree, as isolated as they were when they first made their journey.
Tombstone put up in 1960 for Stacy and Sarah Collins by their grandchildren. [told by Clay Collins]. Listed on findagrave.com, no. 56929191

There are 30 records that return with just the name search at DAR for Anderson, James.

Can we please disconnect this James from all but add Agnes back or else show WHERE she has been disputed?!
Again, there is NO notice on his DAR record that she is incorrect.
