Erica Howton first thought "oh no!" second thought "Oh GOOD! A link that still works!"
Let me look

Please see.
Thank you.

Mother Elizabeth Chapman 's curated profile says:
Thomas Chapman Thomas Chapman, IV and Elizabeth Craxon had two children:
Thomas Chapman, of Fairfax County Thomas who was born in 1690; and
Mary Mary Ashmore (her?) who was born in 1693.
Elizabeth died in 1695.

There are additional children connected to her.
Do they need moved to second wife Margaret Chapman or disconnected entirely from this family?

Managers of John Chapman,

I am contacting you about this profile: John Chapman

I disconnected him from the parents due to curated profiles for them say only had two children and John is not noted.
Please see.
Many of the links are broken.
I also sent a message to managers via disconnected father's profile.

I have a Chapman line I am trying to expand and came here today as a result of a new DNA match at Ancestry. Thank you for looking and please accept my apologies for any inconvenience.

Sincerely,

Cynthia Curtis (Hicks), A183502, US7875087

John Chapman

My DNA match today at Ancestry is a Chapman in the Thrulines but we KNOW what dirty, working trees make up the Thrulines..... I am certain of the bottom up but not the top down and so since these are in the "tree tops", I certainly need to be sure I have not "broken" anything.

Fix using https://www.colonial-settlers-md-va.us/getperson.php?personID=I1027...

It is the continuation database for one of the rootsweb files I had used.

Mike Marshall has updated some relationships since I worked on this line.

I don’t have an issue with the detached John Chapman, I had detached from parents before.

Elizabeth Chapman says:
About
8. Elizabeth Craxon-4 (Ann Chapman-3, Thomas Chapman-2, Thomas Chapman-1). She was born 1668 in Charles, Maryland. She died 1695 in Charles, Maryland.

Elizabeth Craxon was the daughter of Thomas Craxon and Ann Chapman. Ann was the daughter of Thomas Chapman-2 and therefore the ant of Thomas Chapman-4. Elizabeth was born in 1668 and married her first cousin Thomas Chapman-4 in 1689.

Thomas Chapman and Elizabeth Craxon had two children:

Thomas who was born in 1690; and
Mary who was born in 1693.
Elizabeth died in 1695.

Elizabeth may have married a second time to Mr. Burgess. They had no children.

http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=mrmar...;...
----------------------------------------------------------------
both links are "dead" and I edited the About to make BOLD:
Thomas Chapman and Elizabeth Craxon had two children:

Thomas who was born in 1690; and
Mary who was born in 1693.

Elizabeth may have married a second time to Mr. Burgess. They had no children.

Thank you, Erica Howton

I don't SEE where she changed????

I am so looking forward to when the Rootsweb info will be available at Ancestry.
So much work went into THOSE databases. And many of the researchers are now gone.

I'll add the link to her profile

Does Edward need added? If so, the About needs amended

Thank you, Erica.
I am a Chapman descendant and REALLY want these correct.
Thank you for the help and your patience.

My suggestion is to update according to Colonial Settlers (Mike Marshalls database) but with an intelligent reading of the extracts he provides.

I’ve de curated Elizabeth Chapman because it’s no longer the profile I curated.

I’ll recurate when it makes more sense to me. :)

Erica Howton no worries. No idea who she "was"
I didn't change anything.

Thomas Chapman, of Culpeper County Was mismerged with Thomas Chapman, of Fairfax County

I undid merges and am rejecting bad smart matches.

I think it’s Thomas Chapman, of Culpeper County you were interested in?

Start by looking him up at https://www.colonial-settlers-md-va.us/index.php

You could also look at the Miles Files

https://espl-genealogy.org/

Pay careful attention to geography

Thomas Chapman, of Culpeper County is just one I "adopted" and was recently merged.
Let me find "my" Chapman---

John Chapman, Sr. my 5th great grandfather but he dead ends at his father Samuel Chapman, of Amelia County and I got a DNA match I was examining which led me to the tree tops folks.

I don't enjoy the tree tops lol

https://www.colonial-settlers-md-va.us/getperson.php?personID=I1027... Is showing Thomas Chapman d 1701 with 2 sons Thomas, 1) no mother b 1670 b 2) son of Elizabeth Craxon b 1690

Seems a little unlikely but best we got unless someone shows otherwise.

skepticism on younger Thomas b 1690 , but his dates fit. Supposed son Isaac Chapman, Sr disputed.
