I have deleted the name "Brandon" as Major Young's middle name. There is no record, no document, no census record, no family history, nothing at all that gives Major Young's middle name. He was also interviewed twice, once for the Orion magazine, in 1843, and again in 1843 by historian James Hodge Saye. In neither manuscript did he offer a middle name. The name Brandon appears in some trees, but it is entirely speculative, based presumably on his mother's last name.
