Excellent to see that we have relatives that go back to the Turkish occupation.
The capitol of Royal Hungary was Pozsony and Gyöngyös was just east of Buda.
Difficult times for everyone.
Most of the Anyakönyv were either destroyed or lost during the occupation.
Afterwards, when the churches were rebuilt around 1770, new books were started for birth deaths and marriages especially in the smaller towns and villages. 1770 or thereabouts was a hard date for many records.
Finding evidence of family in the Pozsony books is rare and wonderful.
