I don't put any stock in these kinds of citations, the ones with nothing tangible to back them up. And there are way too many out there. It's a bad habit and unsound genealogical practice. They prove nothing without the actual record. I find enough errors in the transcripts for real records.

Family Search has a wealth of records, but they haven't got all of it processed properly for public use. We have to remember this is a public, shared world tree.

The collection England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 should be decent, and the year variance of 1614 vs 1615 could be Old Style vs New Style dating. I’m more thrown by the birth place discrepancy.

OK, it’s an index.

Index to selected England births and christenings. Only a few localities are included and the time period varies by locality. Due to privacy laws, recent records may not be displayed. The year range represents most of the records. A few records may be earlier or later.

"England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975." Database. FamilySearch. http://FamilySearch.org : 11 October 2023. Index based upon data collected by the Genealogical Society of Utah, Salt Lake City.

I’m curious now so I’m going to look at AmericanAncestors.
