In earlier times in Sweden, the surname of a child ended with either "son" or "dotter." The first part of the surname is representative of the given name of the father. In Anna Maria's case, her father's given name is Erik. So, in this case, Anna Maria's Surname at birth was Ersdotter. She had a brother named Jacob Eriksson.
This practice eventually fell out of favor with the growing population. Too many people had same or similar names. When that happened, my ancestry surname became Svanberg, which means Swan mountain, a name picked from nature. Svanberg became Swanburg in America, which means Swan city.
