Spinning off discussion because there’s more to it than just the initial query on Marie Grandry

So far:

GEDCOM Note

Three Brides for Three Brothers The Davids of Quebec The three David brothers; Claude, Jacques and Guillaume; arrived in New France before 1650; and all were later married to Filles a Marier; the single girls sponsored by various companies, churches and seigneurs, to help increase the population of the small colony The brothers were from Rouen, Normandy, France; sons of Blaise Julien David and Flavie Morel. Young and energetic, they should have been very successful, except for one thing. They were Hugenots. Not feeling terribly welcomed, they decided to try their luck in New Amsterdam (now New York), which was run by the West India Company. Since the Dutch never tried to hide that fact that their interest in the 'New World' was purely financial; they supported religious freedom and open trade. However, they were also often aggressive toward the Native populations, so the political climate was hostile at best. Therefore, the boys decided to go back to Quebec, and were confirmed into the Catholic faith on August 10, 1659. Claude married Susan Denoyen and had two boys. He settled at Trois Rivieres. Jacques married Marie Grandry, had seven children and settled at Chateau Richer. Guillaume married Marie Armand, had six children and settled first at Trois Rivieres and then Sorel.

Jacques David dit Pontife married to Marie Grandry

Birth date a bit different but death the same.

An easy mistake to place brothers marrying sisters, but should double check that Charles St-Armand dit Arnauld did not have another Marie daughter with that birthdate.

Charles St-Armand dit Arnauld has the wrong parents ???

D'origine inconnue

The above site attributes a date of birth and parents to her, without proof that it is indeed her, her marriage not having been found. (Note: some links on the site to sources are dead or pirated)

oocities archive also attributes the same to her, and states that her husband was also brother of Jacques David, whereas the only confirmed brother of Guillaume is Claude. No sources cited.

Oh no, did you merge this Marie
GRANDIN, Marie m. Jacques Picot dit Labrie; - where did she go?
with this Marie??
Marie Grandry

And you found another Marie marrying into the David family, oh how tangled this one is!

Private User - I cannot any of the family for Marie Grandin & Jacques Picot on Geni.

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Picot-104

Not parents, children, or other spouses. There isn’t much of a descent line so perhaps that’s why.

I feel rather confident that Marie Grandry is more or less correct.

And bonus! I sorted out the “three David brothers” (who weren’t three, there were two).

Claude David married Suzanne Denoyon

Guillaume David married Marie Armand

Ahh, my mistake, I'm sorry, I thought I had seen her here, so that's all cool.

I'm happy with everything I see there, you've done an amazing job, thank you for sorting this mess out.

Thank you. I uploaded “official” data for Marie Grundy which should make it easier in the future:

Nice source, that's a really good one.

Had another look at Marie Grandin's info on WikiTree and her one daughter who came with her to Quebec never married, she became a nun and worked in the hospital in Quebec City.

I think I know what happened on the index page, going to put the WikiTree link in now, like I originally intended, and that'll be sorted for the project end with her. :)

Might as well put the search screen for https://www.fichierorigine.com/ up.

The Origin File is the directory of civil status documents and notarial documents of French and foreign emigrants established in Quebec from their origins to 1865. It has been available online for free since 1998.
