A Thomas Cowell is recorded as a "Foreign Burgess" in the Preston Guild Rolls for 1622. Although the time frame is consistent, it cannot be said with certainty that the two Thomas Cowells are the same, although the Cowell family were Pewterers and could have been entered on the Guid rolls by reason of their trade as pewterers.
