According to the Judkins Family Association, Job was born in Scotland in 1606. But this seems to be based on "family tradition". Reliable sources only point to origin starting with his Job's baptism in Warwickshire baptized on 28 April 1607, the son of Francis and Jane; not Joel.
I have found conflicting information that Job was born in 1609 in Southam, Warwickshire, England. I have also found that family tradition has it that he was born in 1606, Scotland; the son of Joel Judkins (born 9 Aug 1579), and grandson of Samuel Judkins (born 10 May 1556) and that he and two brothers emigrated from Scotland. Loren Judkins, a descendant, has stated that Job was bom in West Glasgow, Scotland in 1606 and
that he came to Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1628, having married Sarah Dudley. However, no records are known to confirm this.
These are the earliest known ancestors in this branch of the family. Judkins is a patronymic Anglo-Saxon name, a diminutive of Judd or Jordan and was probably brought back to Europe by Crusaders returning from their efforts to free the Holy Land from the Muslims, a mission in which despite at least twelve attempts, they were unsuccessful. However it became the fashion in the Middle Ages for these warriors and pilgrims to give their subsequent children names associated with the birth of Christianity or Ancient Greece, in honor of the fathers efforts. It is said that in some cases the surname derives from another given name of similar origins. This is or rather was, Jude, from the Hebrew male given name "Yehuda" of uncertain origins. Early examples of the (sur)name recordings include: Jordanus presbiter in the charters known as the "Feudal Documents" of the Abbey of Bury St. Edmunds, in Suffolk in 1121, whilst Hugo Jude appears in the Pipe Rolls of Lincolnshire in 1193. Other recordings include: Grace Judkin who married James Taylor at St Dionis Backchurch, London, in 1677 and Mary Juggins who married Edmund Hall at St George's Chapel, Hanover Square, London, in 1793. Probably the first of all known recordings in any spelling is that of Ricardus Jodson in the Poll Tax rolls of the county of Yorkshire in 1379. Surnames became necessary when governments introduced personal taxation. In England this was sometimes known as Poll Tax. Throughout the centuries, surnames in every country have continued to "develop" often leading to astonishing variants of the original spelling.
Earliest known use of the surname is in Suffolk, and it was common in Warwickshire and several other counties by 1600. Family traditions have claimed Scots ancestry, placing Job Judkins’ birth in Scotland, and some have him as the son of Joel Judkins of Scotland. More recent work claims that the name Judkins is found in several English counties at this time, but is not seen at all in Scotland.
Job Judkins Probable English Line:
1559- Fraunciscus “Francis” Judkin, Southam, Warwickshire, England; death 1617; occupation: Carrier
1530- Thomas Brixworth Judkin, Southam, Warwickshire, England; occupation: Salter, Pearmonger, Yeoman
1505- Richard “Judkyn", Southam, Warwickshire, England
1480- Robert Judkyn, Brixworth, Northampton, England
1460- Henry Judkyn, Brixworth, Northamptonshire, England
However, there is an interesting potential connection to Scotland- Job Judkins is 17 Degrees removed from David II King of Scots. In addition, I believe there is a possible correlation between Samuel Judkins and Lord Judd in 1534 as our ancestral line served under the house of Lord Judd as kinsmen thus taking on the surname “Jud” “kins” (kinsmen to the house of Judd) but this is speculation on my part simply because of the close correlation in the dates and Lord Judd.
The English line implications are that this makes Job Judkins the son of Francis (Franciscus) and Jane (Yonge) Judkins; not Joel. If Francis, then it takes the Judkins line as early as 1460 England; not Scotland.

Cynthia Curtis, A183502, US7875087 - I had asked Aaron Judkins to post publicly so researchers and descendants could evaluate. This is not yet a curating issue. Managers must weigh in.
What about this baptism record asserts this was the same Job Judkins that came to America? it’s a common enough name.
