I am, as far as I can tell, a descendant of Samuel isaacs of Colonial Virginia. Many different researchers have shown Sam to be the son of Ralph Isaacs and Mary Rumsey, but I believe this is based on a decades old assumption that is probably incorrect. There is definitely a Samuel Isaacs, son of Ralph and Mary Rumsey Isaacs, however they would be about 40-50 years younger than what Sam of Virginia parents would have been, AND they are VERY well documented in the Fairfield/Norwalk Connecticut history, born and died, buried and headstones existing in Connecticut, photographed as well.
I know several family researchers have also run into this tangle, with no resolution. Wondering whether there might be any who may have been able to find documentation or anecdotal information to straighten out the confusion.
Thanks to all who have researched and provided information on the Isaacks/Isaacs/Isaac family and good luck!
