Predominantly New Brunswick, Maine, Italy, Loyalist...

I am trying to find other family members interested in collaborating on my family's geneological research project.

Hello Alannah,
I have early ancestors who lived in some of the same areas as yours. The Allen’s were in Cape Cod from 1641 until the revolution I.e. 5 generations. Being Quaker pacifists they refused to fight in the War of Independemce so their property was confiscated and they were banished to Maine by 1784 in the Smithfield/Faifield area. A few generations later my great great grandfather Hiram Allen who was born in 1836 was mustered into a Maine fighting unit in the American Civil War. He was killed in action the day before he turned 27, leaving his widow Lucy and my one year old great grandfather William Henry Allen (Willie). He married in Maine but spent most of his life in nearby Coaticook, Quebec. He died in 1920 but his descendants all lived in Canada, mostly in Ontario where I was born in 1942. I suggest that you check my Geni profile and tree to see if any of your relatives lived close to mine of fought for Maine in the Civil War.
