It is well documented that although Constantine's Dad legally recognised his 4 children with Margaret Balmain - Henderson, Convict "Lady Penrhyn" 1788 all of his children carried the birth surname of DAWSON. The children then went on to use the name HENDERSON (their step-fathers name)

John William DAWSON was born 20 August 1800 in Australia and he went to England on 26 August 1801 with his parents. He later returned to Australia and used his stepfathers name of HENDERSON. He married Kezia Jane Henderson and all his children were named HENDERSON. He died in Australia on 9 August 1850.

The Doctor John William BALMAIN who died 1866 Canada cannot have been born in Australia in 1776.
In 1776 the only people living in Australia were our First Nations indigenous people and the British did not arrive until 1788. Dr William BALMAIN and Margaret DAWSON arrived in Australia in 1788 on different ships and had children between 1794 and 1803.
