I got a merge request to merge this profile with this one;
I don't think they're the same person, so I'm not approving the merge. The reason I say this is that the Bridgeman who was married to Ann Mayo is my direct ancestor and I don't have any info on him having a wife named Anne Harris. I do have a DNA match on Ancestry who is a descendant of Bridgeman Joyner and Deborah Hardy, with Bridgeman being the common ancestor for me and the descendant match and that is also further validated by the name Bridgeman being used down the descendant line from Deborah Hardy's descendants.
I checked Ancestry for any documentation on there for a wife named Anne Harris for this Bridgeman and the only ones I found only reference the Mayo connection. Also, in the notes in Bridgeman's profile it states:
"He MAY first have been married to Deborah Hardy (implied) and second to Ann (confirmed) who MAY have been a Harris (disputed) or Mayo (disputed) family member."
I believe the Hardy and Mayo connections because of my DNA matches on Ancestry, as well as the document on Ancestry that repeatedly mentions the connections with the Mayo family, but I've seen nothing regarding a Harris wife.
I just noticed that the notes in Bridgeman I's profile indicte it was his son Bridgeman II who married Deborah Hardy:
CHILDREN:
1. Nathan ( -1770), m. Ann ?, Chart Ref. 11
2. Joshua ( -1767), m. Mary (Beale?), Chart Ref. 12
3. Elizabeth, m. John Bryant
4. Bridgeman ( -1754), m. Deborah (Hardy), [NO] Chart Ref. 13
5. John, m. Elizabeth Brown, Chart Ref. 14
Which would mean that this Bridgeman II:
who has children listed but no wife would be the husband of Deborah Hardy who is erroneously connected as a wife of his father. This also fits because of the profile note in Bridgeman II's profile:
"The children of Bridgeman Joyner Jr. and Deborah Hardy [SIC: his wife] were Patience, Jacob, Bridgeman III, Jesse, Sarah, and Ann."
This is the Master Profile for Bridgeman Joyner, II.
Curator Note from Erica Howton (12/6/2019):
Deborah Hardy was not his wife
