Would like more specifics concerning Bible, date of publication, owner, exact entry for wife. Research in original Records does not show maiden name of wife Lucy to be Estill.
Maiden Name of Mother, Lucy Price, found in many family trees is not accurate. An article from Early Settlers of Jackson County Alabama stated her maiden name was Estill but that statement can be proven false. Original documents show Lucy's Maiden name was Price. The 1783 marriage records of Shenandoah County recorded women by their maiden names. (Lucy Price joined in marriage to Richard Price). Lucy declares she is sister of Anger Price in Revolutionary War Pension Application: Anger Price W1073 "...Lucy met with Capt. Campbell of the army and he told her he had enlisted her brother Anger Price...that she equipt him and fitted him out for the campaign..." An East Kentuckian article submitted December 1972 states: "Lucy was a sister of Anger Price."
Only two sons, John Moffat Estill and Benjamin Estill, are named in the Will of Benjamin Estill; Register of the Kentucky Historical Society page 125; Genealogical Table of the Wallace Estill Branch of the Family Known As the History of Ruth 1903; Kegley's Virginia Frontier page 372 and A Centennial History of Alleghany County, Virginia, page 200. A DNA comparison of 25 Estill descendants and descendants of Lucy Price shows no matches using 7 cm minimum.
Any help in correcting misinformation would be greatly appreciated.
