Disputed origins

Updated 22 September 2023

Rev. John ‘of Horsham’ Cadwallader was not the son of John ‘of Radnor’ Cadwallader?through=6000000001171666711 and Sarah Cadwallader and has been detached from them.

We don’t know if he was the man born 12//1676 at Horsham, Montgomeryshire, Wales.

From David Curtis Roberds on 22 September 2023:

There is a YDNA conflict. A descendant of Rev John Cadwallader has test results of R1a-L664, and another as R-M198 (he has DYS388 = 10 which makes him also L664 if he tests farther). A different man has haplogroup R-Y77705 and his DYS388 = 12. He is descendant of John Cadwallader b. 1649 Wales and d.1742 Penn. which is John "of Radnor" Cadwallader from his son, John Cadwallader born 5 JAN 1699 Radnor Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania and died 18 DEC 1755 Vincent Township, Chester, Pennsylvania.

L664 dna is rarely found in Wales from those tested that were L664, less than 1% have connection to Wales. I believe that Rev John Cadwalader was born Shropshire, England. There is a baptismal record for a John Cadwalader 21 Jun 1674 Wrockwardine, Shropshire, England - Father: Morrice Cadwallader Mother: Jane. (her maiden name might have been COK) if this is the same Jane COK that married David Cadwalader (1631-1667) married Jane COK 18 Feb 1664 St. Chad, Shrewbury, Shropshire, England
