He viewed the microfilm of the original, NY Gov Hunter’s Subsistence List, and on pages 20 and 21/291, this is what he saw:
30JUN 1710 Johann Henrich Zeller was placed on the list (3,0) as was widow Anna Batdorf ( aka Battorffin) (3,0).The first digit is people age 10 and older and the second digit was children under age 10
Four days later Henrich was (1,4, should be 1,1) and widow Anna was (5,0). Later entry’s show that Johannes Zeller and his father Johann George Zeller had joined the widow.
4 AUG 1710 Henrich was (1,1) and widow Anna was (5,0)
Henrich Zeller’s subsistence list tell us a verry interesting story.
Henrich’s child age under 10 lived with him on every subsistence entry which I believe makes the child his.
4 OCT 1710 Henrich is (4,0) and 31 DEC 1710 he is (2,2). It appears that sometime after 4 AUG 1710 he married a widow who had a child and the list maker made the children over 10. It was corrected on the next entry to (2,2).
25 MAR 1711, about 9 months after they married, they added a new child and are (2,3) who was probably Hartman.
24 JUN 1711 they are (3,2) which means Henrich’s immigrant child is now age 10.
On the next entry, 29 SEP 1711 Henrich is (3,1). The child who came with his wife when they married has died.
Henrich’s 24 DEC 1711 entry is (3,1), the 25 MAR 1712 entry is (2.1) and the last entry, 24 JUN 1712 is (3,1)
His child age 9 when they arrived was Anna Maria who married Johannes Schaeffer 1716 or 1717. Her uncle Johannes was her sp. 1717.

Henrich’s will stated that his wife was Anna Maria. Was she a Briegal?

Zeller-Batdorf Relationship
The Hank Jones Team had found these church records at Helmershausen Germany.
Peter Batdorf married Kunigunda Weygand 16 MAY 1682. Among the eight children baptized were Johann Martin, bpt 8 JAN 1695 and Catharine Elizabetha bpt 17 JAN 1698. About 1702 Kunigunda died and he married Anna Maria who was probably a Zeller, a daughter or sister of Johann George Zeller, father of Henrich and Johannes. They left Rotterdam with 5 children for London. Only his wife Anna, Johann Martin and Catharina Elizbeth were alive when they arrived at New York. Always kin support and protect a widow and children when her husband dies, so Johann George and son Johannes lived with widow Anna and her two step children during the 2 years of subsistence.
Johann Martin Batdorf had married Maria Elizabetha Walborn and his sister had married Christian Wilhelm Walborn at New York and had relocated to Tulpehocken PA with Henrich and Johannes Zeller. When Johannes made his will Martin and Christian were named as co executors with his son Henrich. I believe this proves that the Zeller and Batdorf families were neighbors at Helmershausen before leaving for London.
If Peter’s second wife was not a Zeller, a sister of Peter could have married Johann George Zeller, which would make his sons, Henrich and Johannes, cousins of the Batdorf children. Either way they all came from Helmershausen.
Palatine Ulrich Siimmendinger returned to Germany ’s and published a report on those still alive at 1717 at New York. Widow Anna Badtorff and 2 children, Henrich, wife and 3 children and Johannes, wife Anna Catharina and 2 children all at New Annesbury NY.
