At least three pedigrees published by MyHeritage claim that James Bruce is the son of James Bruce and his wife Euphame Anderson. All three pedigrees identify Dysart in Fife as his birthplace. One pedigree offers 9 May 1594 as his birth date and two offer 13 August 1595 as his birth date. Concerning the first date. A birth or baptism for a child named James Bruce cannot be identified at Dysart on 9 May 1594. It seems possible, therefore, that this date represents an error in transcription. If this is the case then it may refer to the baptism of a child named James Bruce which was registered at Dysart on 9 March 1594. In this particular case the name of the father cannot be identified. Concerning the second date. The baptism of a child named James Bruce was registered at Dysart on 13 August 1595, but this child was the son of Thomas Bruce.

If anyone can bring forward primary evidence of relationship I would be grateful. Otherwise, he should be disconnected from the family tree of James Bruce and Euphame Anderson (who were not married).
