Please note that there is no proof Annna the wife of John Shotwell, was Anne Dove.
Conflicts:
1. The 1726 will of John Dove cites his son was under 21, not his daughters. However:
2. John Dove was born 1687 and died 1726. A basic calculation following average marriage ages assumes he married at age 21-25 (1708-1712). IF he had a child conservatively a year after marriage and every two years after, then:
- CHILD1: est. 1709-1713
- CHILD2: 1711-1715
- CHILD3: 1713-1717
The will of John Dove cites his son John Dove (jr) was under 21. The basic math actually shows all children were under 21 in 1726 unless John Dove was married and had children even younger. This makes the case for Anne Dove even worse as she would be even further in age from John Shotwell b. 1729 +/-. If the children were infants, typically the will would state it, the will did not as shown in other wills in the collection.
Conclusions:
Based on average ages of male and females, it would not be typical that Anne Dove b. between 1709-1717, was married to a younger John Shotwell b. 1729+/- which doesn't match historical age averages. Men married younger women, not older.
Further there is ZERO proof Anne Dove is "Ann/Anna" the wife of John Shotwell. The only credible indirect reference was made by my ancestor William D. "Billy" Hixson that we should focus on to research the Drake connection hint and direction through Morris (Mary (Morris) Shotwell leading to Anna, versus not made up internet information adding Anne Dove.
Otherwise find a source Anne Dove married John Shotwell that isn't an internet tree.
