His Hebrew name was Yedidia. The surname appears in documents by two spellings, Fächer and Fecher. He was born in Debiça, Poland (formerly Dembitz). He was also the father of Ignácz Chaim Fächer, who is buried in the Jewish cemetery in Jelsava, Slovakia. The inscription on Ignácz's headstone includes Yedidia's name.
